MOANA PRODUCTION INFORMATION 
FOR VOLUNTEERS & CAST

1. VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION ZOOM SESSION

Room Monitors Room Duty Orientation

To ensure everything runs smoothly, we will hold a Zoom meeting tomorrow at noon to go over instructions, expectations for each role, and key contacts in case you experience any challenges during the show. Your presence at this meeting will help us all be as prepared as possible!

2. IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR DRESS REHEARSAL & SHOWS

ARRIVAL & CHECK-IN

  • Arrive at your designated call time.
  • Enter through the main lobby (Mrs. Janice's area) and check in with a Moana Parent Volunteer Greeter, who will:
    • Check you in
    • Give you a badge
    • Direct you to your assigned area

ESSENTIAL REMINDERS

  • Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. A snack will be provided.
  • No wearable technology (smartwatches, fitness trackers, etc.) on wrists.

SUNDAY, 3/23 - MECHINA-2ND GRADE ARRIVAL

  • Call Time: 12:15 PM – Report to the stage promptly for bows before the house opens at 12:30 PM.
  • After bows, students will go to their designated holding rooms.

DRESS CODE FOR LOWER SCHOOL CAST

  • Arrive in full hair, makeup, and show shoes for all performances.
  • M-2, please arrive at all 4 shows in costume. 
  • 3 - 8  should arrive in your undergarments, and street clothes will put on costumes in their rooms.

3. ROOM MONITORS

VOLUNTEER PARKING

  • If volunteering on Sunday or Monday, park near the playground (updated from earlier blog post)
    • the spots on the north side of the building near the gym are reserved for sponsors
    • The spots right in front of the gym are reserved for handicapped.

CHECK-IN & ROOM ASSIGNMENTS

  • AFTER check in and arrival, report directly to your assigned grade-level room.
  • Find your room number for volunteering or merch/water sales on the Volunteer Spreadsheet.

ROOM ASSIGNMENTS

  • Mechina & Kindergarten: Room 235 / Music Room
  • 1st & 2nd Grade: Room 237 / Keyboard Lab
  • 3rd Grade: Room 133 / Conference Room
  • 4th Grade: Room 228 / Jewish Studies Room
  • 5th-8th Boys: Room 137 / A/V Recording Studio
  • 5th-8th Girls: Room 135 / Innovation Studio
  • Merchandise & Fan-O-Grams: Media Center
  • Concessions: Dining Hall

DURING DRESS REHEARSAL & SHOWS

  • Cue lists in holding rooms indicate when and where to bring groups for their numbers.
  • Scripts & live stream will be available in M-5th grade rooms.
  • Lookbooks of all students are in each room.

DISMISSAL AFTER EACH SHOW

  • Room Volunteers will check out each cast member after the performance.
  • Please tidy the room before leaving.

4. DISMISSAL AFTER SUNDAY 1 PM SHOW

  • ALL Lower School Cast must leave between the 1 PM and 7 PM Sunday shows and return at their next call time.
  • Pick-up is from assigned dressing rooms.
  • Meals: Arrange for lunch/snacks between shows; do not eat in costume.

Middle School Cast & Crew

  • May stay at the theater or leave after the 1 PM show.
  • If staying, bring a meal and snacks.
  • If leaving, eat before returning for call time.

5. MIDDLE SCHOOL CAST NOTES

PRE-ARRIVAL

  • Apply your skin-tone foundation before arriving.
  • Wear compression undergarments.
  • Hair:
    • Girls wearing wigs: hair in pin curls or braids.
    • Bring show shoes.
  • Jewelry is NOT allowed (no bracelets, rings, hair ties, etc.).
  • No wearable technology (smartwatches, fitness trackers, etc.).

ADDITIONAL REMINDERS

  • Deodorant is a MUST – Long hours under stage lights can be intense!
  • Nails: Choose a color that complements your costume or leave them plain.
  • Hydration: Bring a large water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day.
